In spite of our questionable penchant for mixing fine scotch with s’mores (they’re great if you dunk them), Bonfire Effect continues to draw in top talent. As it turns out, the two most recent additions to our company are a perfect fit, bringing impressive experience and a fully-loaded, blue and white enamel-coated plateful of character to the Bonfire table. Meet Aaron and Luisa!
Joining Bonfire Effect as our Account Strategy Director, Aaron Owens was quite literally raised among wild animals. “My mom worked at a zoo and would occasionally bring the hand-raised chimps and monkeys home,” he explains. Perhaps these early days spent “monkeying around” (ba dum tssshhh) are what fostered Aaron’s excellent sense of humor—a trait unequivocally displayed in his infamous 2007 mime interpretation of Cascada’s “Everytime We Touch.” (Don’t read on until you watch the video!) Thanks in part to this sense of humor, plus his killer dance moves and hidden sensitive side, Aaron hit the jackpot with his beautiful wife, Rachel. The couple now has two young kids, Kate and Jack.
Beyond his affinities for assistant zoo keeping and comical miming, Aaron also boasts a wide range of professional accolades that make him an ideal asset to our team—from turning a stagnant company into the fastest growing gas utility firm in the U.S. to quadrupling annual sales for a six-time Inc. 5000 honoree. With his undeniable expertise (and amusing wit), Aaron is already bringing breakthrough ideas to Bonfire Effect.
Special twin powers, gymnastic feats, rugby laurels, and bodybuilding. Who knew all of this could come in such a small package! Our new Project Manager, Luisa Pauna, might be a little under five feet tall, but we’ve learned not to underestimate the capabilities and determination of this small yet mighty Nanosaurus Rex (an existing nickname she has graciously shared for our amusement).
With a world-renowned acrobat for a father (known for his one-armed handstands holding a person around his waist), taking daring leaps and setting the bar high for herself comes naturally to Luisa.
Having traveled to over 15 countries and lived in three, she is no stranger to challenges and adventure. After helping establish the Confucius Institute at the University of West Florida, Luisa grasped the opportunity to spend a year in China teaching journalism and mass communications. While in the Czech Republic, she completed a comparative analysis of the Czech and American prison systems. And before joining Bonfire Effect, Luisa worked as the marketing project manager and reimbursement manager for a Denver-based medical device company—even getting hands-on surgical experience in the process. Whew! Now that, ladies and gents, is one heck of a resume!
